First published in Japan in 1925, The Teaching of the Buddha is a collection of passages from the Buddhist scriptures, and has become a classic introduction to Buddhism ranging from the early teachings to later Mahayana expressions. The first English edition was published in 1934, and has undergone revisions and numerous reprintings since. The current title is the 364th revised edition completed in 2011. The Teaching of Buddha has been translated into more than 46 languages, and over 8 million copies have been distributed and placed in hotel rooms in 64 countries across the world.
