The first English edition was published in 1934, and has undergone revisions and numerous reprintings since. The current title is the 364th revised edition completed in 2011. The Teaching of Buddha has been translated into more than 46 languages, and over 8 million copies have been distributed and placed in hotel rooms in 64 countries across the world. Headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, Bukkyo Dendo Kyokai (BDK) is a nonprofit, nondenominational organization dedicated to the promotion of better understandings of all forms of Buddhism.
